Just like other species introduced by Europeans in Australia, the carp which is a feline type of fish has outgrown the capacity and posed a threat to other Australian water animals. A few months back, Australia was dealing with a feline wild cat that was endangering with extermination other Aussie mammal. Most animals in Australia are harmless and slow and cannot defend themselves agains the aggressive species introduced by Europeans. Also due to lack of competition, the feline species tend to overpopulate while at the same time posing existential threat to native animals. The strain of herpes to be used is harmless to humans but deadly to the carps
