"Burning recovered elephant tusks is stupid and no solution to elephant poaching. When you recover your stolen phone or some other property, you don't protect your phones from future theft by burning them. The tusks to be burnt should be preserved for posterity. The fight is not against tusks but against poachers. Burning tusks is wrong advise. After all, we have been burning tusks for more than 25 years and it has not stopped poaching."
